Hi all,

Well, I had to switch web designers this week. Long story short, she was not able to finish the site in a timely manor. I have now hired someone else to get the job completed for me. The site will launch around the 1st of January. I promise. It is going to be a great new site/blog all in one.

I wanted to let you all know that I have taken the month of December off. I will not be blogging again until the new site is up & running! But it will be well worth the wait! Im so excited about it.

If you are interested in booking a session after the 1st of the year, you are welcome to contact me now to set your date.

I blogged about this company a few weeks ago and while talking to them about my new custom designed camera strap, I realized that the previous blog had been deleted! I couldnt let that happen.

Here are a few images from Angela & Adam's Wedding. They were an adorable couple. The wedding was perfectly quaint and the day went fabulous. It took place in the evening time, outside at Dow Gardens in Midland, MI. The weather wasnt to cold neither to warm~ it was just right! The trees were dazzled with beautiful fall colored leaves, the grass was crisp & green, the gardens were vibrant~ ah, how lovely it was.

A quote from the most famous love story of all time... I know everyone that looks at my blog has seen the movie "The Notebook". Well this couple shares that exact love. The love that every girl wants and hopes for.

These two are so freakin cute together its not even funny. And Meagan is identical to Rachel McAdam's character in that movie. She was so stinkin adorable. They flirted with each other as if it were the first time they had met. They held each other as if they had been together for years upon years. Every time Blake looked at her it was if he had just fallen in love all over again. They smiled, they laughed, they played, they had everything in common. It melted my heart.

It was a wonderful engagement session. I absolutely cant wait to photograph your wedding in the Spring!

I have totally neglected my blog. I have been so so busy this month i cant keep my head on straight! lol And next month is even more crazy! No complaining, just letting you know why i havent been keeping up with my blogging.. I will be traveling again starting Tuesday of next week and will not be able to check my email while i am gone. I will be accepting phone calls if you need me. Orders that were sent to me prior September 8th, should be shipped to you within the next week. Andrew & Linsey were married at the Alumni Chapel on the campus of Michigan State University. This was a beautiful place to get married. Both of them attended undergrad & graduate school at MSU, so the wedding colors chosen, were green and white. My Second Family

I have literally known this family since I was about 12 years old. I used to baby sit these kiddos. Anyways, I went to Fayetteville to photograph them and we had a blast! They crack me up. So much fun to be around. It was so hot outside during the session (like 105 degrees~hot) so they decided to jump in their pool at the end of the day- in their clothes.. It was so much fun to see the 3 of them interact and play as they did. I am going to be going back to Fayetteville to shoot Kevin's senior pics in 2 weeks.. I cant wait. He has no clue what he is in for- being that he is sooo model material :) Get ready to pose for me buddy! Its gonna be an all day event.

I loved this couple. How cute are they!!! These two have a little one on the way and a wedding in Mexico very soon! I had a great time with this shoot. We played on Dixon Street in Fayetteville, and also took a few shots a good friends home by the pool. It was a fun time to say the least! They had the perfect style & the best attitude. You can just tell in their images how in love they are!

The holiday schedule is officially open! Bookings for September and October have begun. They book extremely quick so if you want photos and cards in time for the holidays, contact me *now*. All sessions requiring holiday delivery must be completed prior to November 1st. Orders will be due on November 7th.
I'm booking my regular sessions. If you haven't had a session with me previously, here's a little run down on how it works. Full sessions are 1-2 hours long and we do the whole shebang! Family images, sibling images, individual images of the kiddos, fun stuff all the way around. We can do on-location or in your home, clothing changes are always welcome. We'll basically play and have fun and aim to capture a variety of images. Images of your family and kiddos being themselves, having fun, being together. We do have unique & custom holiday cards available & wonderful ideas for family-holiday images!

This session was a ton of fun, although i think we were all soaking wet by the time it was all said and done.. Becca, her mom, & I, that is.. IT WAS SO UNBELIEVABLY HOT OUTSIDE! We played downtown, found the coolest old telephone booth, ate strawberries at the farmers market, and ended up in a water fall by the end of the day! Becca was a trooper to say the least. And great to work with.

Home Sweet Home...

So while i was back in AR, i had the pleasure of spending time with my mom and grandmother at my moms perfectly quaint new home. We sat out on her back patio which is fabulous, and drank coffee, talked, laughed, caught up, etc.. It was a blast. Isnt it nice getting a break every now & then and just being able to relax with your family, reminiscing about the good old days from your past. It makes me feel as if im a little girl when im at home. I get completely taken care of.. Dinner cooked for me, laundry done, a clean house, coffee already made in the mornings.... Anyways, so i decided to pull out my camera while watching my mom and grandmother interact. You have to know my grandmother- she is so funny-i am alot like her in many ways- she says the most random things that just make you laugh and she is so naive to everything..

I have to tell a funny story real quick... When my mom started to move into her new home, she asked my grandmother to come down and help her pack up. My brother (age 17 and as witty as they come), my mom (who loves to get out a good laugh) had my grandmother in the garage packing up boxes. The 3 of them, being worn out from a hot and long day of moving got a bit thirsty. Well, they had already packed up all of the drinks from the inside fridge and taken them to the new house so all that was left were the drinks in the outside fridge (the alcohol fridge) in the garage. The 2 of them willingly let my grandmother open the fridge and pull out a drink while standing there grinning at each other knowing what was going to happen. She grabbed for the glass bottle filled with yellow lemonade (so she thought), popped the top and started drinking it. (ok first of all, i dont think my grandmother even knows what alcohol is, much less knows what the bottling looks like) She got about 3 drinks into it and noticed that my mom and brother were standing there trying not to burst out into a laugh, and said "ugh, has this got alcohol in it? She finally decided to read the labeling after they laughed and told her yes... It was a Mikes Hard Lemonade. She about died. Way to funny. You might have to know her for it to be funny to you, but for those of you that have met her- you know what im talking about..

Here is another cutie pie.. Jax made me laugh throughout the session. He was running around everywhere. You couldnt get this one to stay in one place for more than 2 seconds at a time. It was so funny.. He was MR. INDEPENDENT & ALL BOY! I hear that is exactly how i was when i was a little girl. I think i am going to be in for it when i have a little one. I hear that its pay back time when you have your own! I dont mind.. Im up for the challenge!

HA! This was the cutest b-day party ever! Little Braelyn turned 1. Her parents threw her a pink princess pool party. It was fabulous. Everything was decorated in pink & white including the birthday girl. Pink balloons, pink tousled ribbons, a pink bday cake with white icing, a sparkling pink tutu, a pink & white polka dot bikini, a pink princess crown~ it was adorable.. She celebrated her big day with her whole family~ grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, great grandparents, cousins of cousins, best friends, etc.. I couldn't believe all of the people that were there celebrating the birthday of this little girl. She is so very lucky to have such a big, loving family. They were wonderful. I wanted to cry while watching her interact with everyone, as if she knew exactly who each person was. She laughed, played, & gave kisses all day long. Not one tear, did she let out. She was so happy. My (1st-lol) favorite part of the day, was when they sat her up on the table in her knew rocking chair to open her presents. She clapped and got so excited as soon as she understood what was going on. Her parents went through each and every gift & card with her. She literally held every card in her little hands and looked at them as her parents read aloud what they said. What 1 yr old has the patience for that? I couldnt believe it. And the expressions on her face as they were reading them to her~ priceless! My (2nd-lol) favorite part of the day was when Braelyn was playing with her mommy & daddy in the pool. I watched her being spun around in her little floaty by her mom and thrown up in the air for tickles and kisses by her dad.. It made my heart smile. I could have sat there and watched them all day long. I found myself getting sidetracked and forgetting to actually capture the moments with my camera because i was in such awe. They were the picture perfect little family of three. I am so so thankful that i had the opportunity to meet you all. It was the happiest day for me!

However i will say, I left the party feeling like i had been hit by a freight train..
It made me realize that i am so ready for that life. I cant wait to have a family of my own! Im thinking that may need to get married first :) I hope the man upstairs has that in store for me someday soon! We shall see...

Want to drink a glass of wine in peace & quiet? Pour your wine & go take a hot bath. A hot bath is by far the greatest thing on Earth!

The images below are of my fabulous cousin Lindsey and her family of 4. They just added a new addition in June! Isnt baby Kate adorable?? And her big sister, her pictures speak for themselves. She is one of the most gorgeous little 4 year olds that i have ever seen, and the great thing, is that she is just as beautiful on the inside. She is so polite and kind & has the biggest heart in the world. You have done a wonderful job mommy & daddy.. You should be very proud!

I spent the whole day with them when i was back in AR and had a blast. We literally took pictures ALL DAY long! The family images posted were taken late in the evening as the sun was going down at a little lake front in AR. I wish i could have taken more.. Lindsey, just get ready, because i have a ton of pictures for you to choose from!

WOW! I am editing like crazy today! This is why i love my job! I get to wake up everyday and meet the most amazing families and children that have welcomed me into their lives, & come back with the most fabulous & unique images captured from each session. I wouldnt trade it for the world!

Im back!!!

My vacation was a blast but way to short. I went to Crystal Lake in Northern Michigan! The town was so quaint and dainty. The restaurants were amazing as they were set downtown and overlooked the crystal blue lake and mountains. And yes, this lake was crystal blue. You could literally see about 20 feet down it was so clear. The cottage that we stayed at was delightful~ and super cozy~ and on a great sandy beach. It was so relaxing. We had way to much fun just laying out on the beach, drinking wine slushies, going out on the boat, shopping at fabulous little boutiques, eating yummy food, etc.. It was a fun filled couple of days to say the least! Oh, and there was also a movie being shot in the downtown area there-it is coming out in 2009. Michael Cera (the main male character from the movie Juno) was in the film and a few other big names! Very cool! Ill show a few pics soon..

Look at the precious smiles on these two little girls. Are they not just breathtaking?? And full of personality!

Talk about a hoot! This little missy was the cutest thing on earth! She literally has the mind and intellect of a 30 year old :) She was precious. We had a blast together. Katie was the perfect little model. She was very comfortable in front of the camera- a natural! I bet her mom has something to do with that! It was so nice meeting you sweet girl. "Perilous" Travels

Ok, so my trip to AR has been an unforgettable experience to say the least. I decided to drive this time (BIG MISTAKE), wont happen again. On my way here, i went through horrible rain, hail, & 2 tornadoes in St. Louis.. I finally got about an hour outside of that mess, and took an exit to get gas near Missouri. Well, I got lost on a back road trying to get back to the interstate and was lost for a good 30 minutes.. I thought i was never going to make it back.. I finally did, and was exhausted. 14 hours in the car in one day wears you out... So I went to bed as soon as i got there to relax & be ready for my shoot the next morning! My shoot went good! However, i got back to the home that i was staying at, and a girlfriend of mine came over to lay out by the pool. We laid out, listened to music, drank margaritas, had a blast, the whole bit.. We got about 4 hours in to the deal, and she looked at me and said, you have got to get out of the sun, you are so red. Well, instead of being smart about it, i said "oh im fine" (being that i hadnt seen sun since before xmas- lol) and laid out for a good hour longer. We decided to go shopping for a while, and went to the most fabulous boutiques. I found so many great new items for sessions. I cant wait to use them! Anyways, i get back to the house that evening- and literally, i couldnt move my body. I was hurting so bad, and i have never seen such defined tan lines in my life. You could literally see the bow ties from my swim suit on my back. It was horrible. It was an overcast day, i was having fun enjoying the heat, and wasnt paying attention. I typically dont burn. I tan pretty easy. Well not this time.. I now have blisters and am starting to peel :) YUCKY!!
So my time in AR this month has def been an experience so far..

Cant wait to see what happens next.. lol

Shooting like crazy though and having a blast doing it, as always!

I apologize for not being able to sit down and email you earlier, but ever since we saw your post of Ethan's pictures, Julie and I have been in total amazement of your work, your passion and your true gift!!! Simpy said, the pictures were absolutely the BEST!! I cannot begin to say enough great things about your personality, character and talent. You captured Ethan so well and we are blessed to have had the opportunity to work with you. The entire session was incredible and it shows in your work. You have found a friend for life in both Julie and I- so be prepared, we will bringing you to Iowa to photograph any future babies!! We our absolutely serious about bringing you to Iowa when that day comes and we hope you won't mind adding another state to your travels!! We're on edge for all of the photos, but PLEASE, take your time, enjoy being home with family and friends and have a great work trip/vacation!! We will wait patiently, especially since we know now how great they are going to be!!! Thank you, you truly are an amazing woman!!

YES! Another Ethan! Aside from my one and only little brother, I have never met or heard of another Ethan before.. Im glad to now know another little cutie out there with that name. My personal opinion~ I think there is something really special about having that name. I know this, I have never met anyone that has the heart, mind, and soul (and talent) that my little brother has. I am seven years older than him, and I still to this day look up to him and admire everything that he is.

Anyways,

I had a FABULOUS shoot today with this precious new family of 3. Little Ethan was born 10 days ago and he was just adorable. He really let me see his personality, to say the least :)
The session was perfect. They had the most beautiful home, two dogs (golden retrievers- my fav) and let me just say, they were the sweetest & easiest people in the world to be around. We had everything in common... I loved it! I couldnt wait to get home and to post a few the images.

It was a pleasure getting to know you two... Hope you enjoy!

Ah, the good ole days!

I remember when tea parties with my favorite dolls and plastic cookies were so fascinating to me as a little girl! I would sit in my playroom for hours chatting with my dolls and sipping my hot tea (kool-aid), as I wore my sparkling princess dress and my moms high heels~ along with her hot pink lipstick & red blush in all of the wrong places. :) It tickles me that as a little girl you try so hard to be all grown up so fast, and then at some point in your life when you finally are all grown up, you strive so hard to feel a sense of your past again. You realize how good it felt.

It makes my heart smile when i am able to look at photographs that i have captured and them bring back those simple memories from my past. Being a photographer, you get to live vicariously through the little ones. :) I love that about my job! It is so much fun getting to relive the good ole days, everyday!

I am counting down the days until im in AR. I am happy to say that i am completely booked while i am there from June 5th-June 22nd, and only have a few sessions left for my July 24th-August 3rd trip.

I am now booking Arkansas sessions from August 28th-September 7th.

Im looking forward to all of my sessions... Cant wait to meet everyone!

Can i say that i am WAY jealous of the people that live on the beach year round.. Oh my GAH it is so cold up here. We are supposed to hit 58 today! I have the heat on! Can you believe it, and it is almost JUNE... I am ready for my journey to AR, to say the least. I keep receiving phone calls from my friends/family in Dallas & AR rubbing in my face that it is in the 80's-90's.. And yes i have been disliking all of you for that lately.. I don't even watch the weather anymore because i know that i am just setting myself up for disappointment!

I am sooo excited to be traveling back home to the South very soon. I have my summer clothes out & ready to go!

My New Niche

So i found a new niche in this wonderful world of photography... "PROM", well not shooting at the actual prom per-say, but prior to it, in the homes of my clients.. So much more personal & meaningful- and def better than getting those silly posed "smile and say cheese" snap shots when you walk in the door at prom! Hope you two had a wonderful time!

Front Cover & Additional Photo Spread in Today's Man Magazine! I am thrilled... The title of this blog is to the featured article that my pictures will be published aside in next months issue. I posted a few of the images from the shoot below! The article is on 12 different items (pieces of clothing) that can you can mix & match all summer long. For me, that just isn't possible, as i go through 12 different outfits in one week. Although for men, it just might work... (They have it way too easy)...

The shoot was a blast. The model has got to be one of the most photogenic people that i have ever taken pictures of! He honestly couldn't take a bad picture if he tried. And their fashion designer is just fabulous. I wish i had her around everyday! She has impeccable taste..

The Magazine is Called "Today's Man" Magazine. It is a monthly publication all about items, experiences and knowledge that have clear value and meaning for men. As a lifestyle magazine, its editorial focuses on business, sports, politics, finance, health & fitness, fashion, & trends... It's an all encompassing guide for the "everyday man" to live an extraordinary life. It is a good, clean magazine, and i highly advise you ladies out there to get a copy for your men!

Snowed Under!

Well, not literally, although the weather here is so up and down that it could happen any day!
I am just busy, busy which is always a good thing! No complaints here, however it has left me no time to work on my blog. I have been designing a new logo, taking pics just about everyday, and working on my soon to be "updated" website...

I promise that i am going to start blogging daily.. Keep checking back. Maybe in the next week I will have a few new posts up of sessions that i have recently done.. This blog is going to be a way for my clients to get a sneak peek from their session prior to their gallery being posted!

I cant wait to get it going!
